Driveway Peak is in Sanders County, Montana Northwest of Thompson Falls, Montana. It counts for both the SOTA and POTA program. SOTA reference W7M/LO-067 and POTA Park K-4507.

Getting there: From Thompson Falls, Montana drive north on highway 200 for approximately one mile and then take left turn going south on highway 471. In approximately 13 miles you will take a right hand turn onto Forest Service Road 876. This will take you all the way to the top of Driveway Peak. Along the drive up you pass a working Antimony processing plant. Definately a 4x4 vehicle is required up the Forest Service road.

The peak once was the site of a Forest Service fire lookout tower but the tower has long gone. Spectacular views of the Lolo National Forest made for a beautiful day but the bugs and mosquitoes made my activation a short one.

Cellular service is spotty, you have to walk around until you hit a hot spot, then the service is 2 bars at best.

See my YouTube video of this activation here.
